The Sports Museum consists of a half-mile of exhibits at the TD Garden, the home of the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics.
During your visit for The Sports Museum Tour, our Museum Assistants will guide you through The Sports Museum, which is located primarily on the Premium Levels 5 & 6 of TD Garden. Here you will see the treasures that we have on display evidencing the rich heritage of Boston sports and the influence of sports on the social history and evolution of Boston.
TD Garden Arena Tours will return Summer 2024.
Sports Museum Tours are our daily tours for The Sports Museum that begin on the ground level at The Sports Museum Information Desk, which is located right outside of the ProShop in North Station. The Sports Museum Tours leave at 12:30PM, 1:30PM, 2:30PM, and 3:30PM with the last tour leaving at 3:30PM. Each Sports Museum Tour lasts for approximately one hour.
Please check our Hours of Operation before visiting The Sports Museum as we may be closed due to TD Garden events and holidays.

We are proud to offer Private VIP Tours for your corporate group or family outing of any size!
Our Private VIP Tours offer a customized, private tour with Curator Richard Johnson or Associate Curator Brian Codagnone (based on availability), the two individuals responsible for The Sports Museum’s collection and exhibits. Your group will travel through Levels 5 and 6 of TD Garden to view all artifacts and exhibits featuring the Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Marathon, and more. Your group will also visit our Boston Garden Theatre, where you will receive a special presentation about the history of the Boston Garden and sports in Boston while sitting in actual seats from this historic arena. All told, a VIP Tour provides a personal and more private experience while receiving in-depth stories about our artifacts and exhibits that you cannot hear from anyone else.
If your group is interested in learning more about the history of one team over another, or about TD Garden itself, a Private VIP Tour is the only option that allows your group to do exactly that.
These Private VIP Tours are great to include into your corporate events, social events, and family parties. We work closely with TD Garden to provide you with all your venue, food & beverage, A/V, and entertainment needs.
Weekend availability is extremely limited. We do not accept VIP tour requests under less than a week of notice.

All Field Trips Tours are led by tour guides through Levels 5 & 6 of TD Garden to view exhibits featuring the Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Marathon, and more! All Field Trip Tours will also visit our Boston Garden Theatre, where the kids will receive a special presentation about the history of the Boston Garden and sports in Boston while sitting in actual seats from this historic arena.
The Sports Museum offers Field Trip Tours during our regular business hours at a discounted rate for schools, afterschool programs, summer camps, and nonprofits. Field Trip Tours take approximately 75 minutes and are customized to your group’s needs and interests.
Field Trip Tours require 1 chaperone for every 10 students. All chaperones will be admitted free of charge.
Field Trip Tours MUST be booked at least two weeks in advance. Due to capacity limitations, we no longer allow groups with more than 35 people. For groups larger than this, if the schedule allows, we are happy to book two back-to-back sessions to split the group into more manageable numbers.

Hours are subject to change daily.
Effective February 21, 2022, TD Garden and The Sports Museum announced that they will align with the City of Boston and end the requirement for proof of vaccination for all Sports Museum Tours.
Effective March 5, 2022, The Sports Museum will align with the City of Boston and lift the mask requirement. Per CDC guidelines, masks are highly recommended for those who are high risk but are no longer required.

Yes, we do offer tours of TD Garden during the summer. During your visit for the TD Garden Arena Tour, our Museum Assistants will guide you through Level 3 of TD Garden to give your group a behind-the-scenes look at the arena and also take you up to Level 9 to see the championship banners and the birds-eye view of the arena.
Each TD Garden Arena Tour lasts for approximately one hour and are walk-in only. We look forward to starting these tours again after the Bruins and Celtics 2023-2024 seasons.

No. The Sports Museum Tours and TD Garden Arena Tours are WALK-IN only. Tickets can be purchased at The Sports Museum Information Desk or at the ProShop located in North Station.
Please go to The Sports Museum Information Desk, which is located outside of the ProShop in North Station. All tours will begin there. Please arrive 10 minutes in advance of the tour time you signed up for to check in.
There is an 18-person capacity per tour for our Sports Museum Tours.
There is a 50-person capacity per tour for our TD Garden Arena Tours.
Boston Duck Tours: 50% off a ticket to one of our tours to Duck Tour riders for the day of the tour. Please present the Duck Tour receipt at Sports Museum Information Desk.
EBT Card to Culture Program: We are proud to participate in the Card to Culture program, a collaboration between the Mass Cultural Council and the Department of Transitional Assistance, the Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Nutrition Program, and the Massachusetts Health Connector, by broadening accessibility to cultural programming. All adults with a valid EBT card receive admission for $3.00. Those 18 and under with a valid EBT card receive free admission.
Go City: Free Admission to those with the Go City Pass
Iron Mountain: Free admission for employees when company ID is shown. Guests with the employee must pay the full admission price.
Library Pass Program: Free Admission with a valid pass from a participating public library. Check your local library to see if they are a participating member and for the availability of the Library Pass.
Military: Free admission to all active military members and their family members with a valid military ID.
Plymouth Rock: Free admission when Plymouth Rock free admission pass is shown.
Reciprocal Museum Staff: Free admission for any Boston or Greater Boston Area museum staff with a valid staff ID.
Old Town Trolley: 50% off a ticket to one of our tours to Old Town Trolley riders for up to 48 hours when the ticket was purchased. Please present the Old Town Trolley receipt at Sports Museum Information Desk.
TD Bank Customers: Free admission for a valid TD Bank Debit Card cardholder in addition to up to five guests.
TJX: Free admission for employees when company ID is shown. Guests with the employee must pay the full admission price.
Wonderfund: All adults with a Wonderfund card receive admission for $3.00. Those 18 and under with a Wonderfund card receive admission for $1.00. For more on the Wonderfund program click here.
Our Public Tours (Sports Museum Tours and TD Garden Arena Tours) are offered daily every half-hour on the hour. These tours typically last 1 hour and can be a group as large as 18 people for The Sports Museum Tour or 50 people for the TD Garden Arena Tour, depending on how many guests show up on that particular day and time.
Our Private VIP Tours are just for you and your group. It is $35/person and typically lasts around an hour to two hours. The tour route remains essentially the same, but our Private VIP Tours are given by our Curator or Associate Curator (when available) who are single handedly responsible for our artifacts and exhibits. Additionally, our VIP Tours can be tailored to your interests and you can customize in regards to learning more about the history of one team over another, or about TD Garden itself.
Yes, there are plenty of restrooms. However, we do request that you use the restroom at the beginning or end of the program if possible in deference to others on your tour.
Due to the fact that we are located in an active arena, we only offer guided tours of The Sports Museum and TD Garden. All visitors must be with a tour guide at all times.
Yes, The Sports Museum is fully accessible. However, please notify us of any special needs; as it will help us make your visit go smoother.

No, there is no bus parking available. Buses may drop off students and return after 90 minutes. For bus parking locations, please visit the City of Boston’s Transportation Department.
Yes, service dogs that are trained to provide services and tasks for persons with disabilities are permitted. Support or companion animals are not permitted.

The Sports Museum does not have a gift shop. However, The ProShop is located on Level 1 of the Garden and carries items from all of Boston’s sports teams.

The Sports Museum itself does not have private rooms available to rent but we work closely with TD Garden to provide you with all your venue, food & beverage, A/V, and entertainment needs. TD Garden has a variety of rooms that are available to rent, and you can include museum tours during your event here at TD Garden.

Yes, you are welcome to take photos during your visit with the exception of photographing or videotaping practices or other events taking place at TD Garden.
